If You Already Have a Domain Through Another Provider
If you already own a domain from another provider, don’t worry—you can still follow along with this guide. Simply skip the domain purchasing steps and focus on configuring your DNS settings.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Create an Account with Cloudflare
- Visit Cloudflare and create an account if you don’t have one already.
2. Purchase Your Domain (If Needed)
- Click on "Buy Domains".
- Select "Register" to proceed.
3. Choose Your Domain Name
- Enter the domain name you’d like to register. For this guide, we’ll use
kcbhosting
. - Choose from the available options, such as
.com
,.net
, etc. For this tutorial, we’ll go with.com
.
4. Set Your Domain Duration
- Select the registration duration (e.g., 1 year, 2 years) and click "Continue".
5. Enter Personal Information
- Fill in the required fields with your personal details and move on to the next step.
6. Make Payment
- Choose your preferred payment method—either PayPal or credit card. For PayPal, select the PayPal button, enter your details, and confirm the purchase.
7. Access DNS Settings
- Once your domain is registered and set up, navigate to the DNS settings section within Cloudflare.
8. Add an A Record
- Click "Add Record" and select A Record.
- Set the Name to
play
(or another subdomain name of your choice). - For the IPv4 Address, input your server’s IP without including the port number. Click "Save".
9. Add an SRV Record

- Type: SRV
- Service:

- Protocol:
UDP
- TTL: Auto
- Priority: 1
- Weight: 1
- Port: Enter the port your server uses (e.g., 3000).
- Target: Enter the subdomain you set earlier, such as

10. Test Your Custom Domain
- To ensure everything is configured correctly, try connecting to your server using your new custom domain (e.g.,
